The institute focuses on three research programs:
The Austrian LEAD Study: The Austrian LEAD Study is an epidemiological cohort study that deals longitudinally with the main focus of lung development, the development of chronic diseases and those related to various comorbidities (cardiovascular, metabolic, but also mental diseases). In this study center, the participants pass through various stations to determine their state of health. The results are stored in an anonymous database and analyzed by our research team. Over 11,000 Austrians have already participated in the Austrian LEAD Study.
COVID-19: To determine the number of unreported COVID-19 infections, test persons of the Austrian LEAD Study were invited to an antibody test.
Clinical Study Centre: The Clinical Study Centre is conducting clinical studies with patients treated at the the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine at Clinic Penzing, Vienna.
