The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Lung Health was founded in 2002 with the aim of conducting clinical and translational pneumological research at the Pulmonary Competence Center at the Clinic Penzing in Vienna.
The institute is part of the Austrian Ludwig Boltzmann Society and is largely financed by donations. The research team consists of medical experts who are supported by numerous staff members at two different study centers. Since its foundation, the Institute has pursued a broad spectrum of research priorities in the fields of lung development, chronic lung diseases (and their comorbidity) and pneumological oncology.
You can find more information about our research priorities under the heading "Research".
